Easter Island

Remote volcanic island of native name Rapa Nui. famous for its archaeological sites, with about 900 monumental statues called "moáis", created by the inhabitants between the thirteenth and sixteenth centuries. The moáis are carved human figures with oversized heads resting on huge stone pedestals called ahus.

Itinerary at a Glance

Day 1, Santiago - Easter Island: Welcome with fresh flower leis at Mataveri airport in Easter Island and transfer to selected hotel. In the afternoon, tour to Puna Pau, a quarry on the hills of Rano Kau, where pukaos were manufactured, hats worn by the moais and made of red volcanic ash. Visit Ahu Akivi, an altar consisting of the only 7 moais whose eyes are fixed on the sunset over the ocean. Return to hotel. Overnight.

Day 2, Easter Island: Breakfast in the hotel. Full day trip visiting the East coast of the island, starting towards the temple of Akahanga, the extinct volcano Rano Raraku and the quarry where the moai were made. Enjoy lunch, picnic style. Ahu Tongariki is the largest in Polynesia, with 15 restored statues. The tour continues with a visit to Te Pito Kura, where a destroyed platform contains the largest moai on Easter Island, currently lying on the ground. After visiting the last platform of Ahu Nau Nau, we finish our mystical journey in the beautiful Anakena beach. Return to hotel. Overnight.

Day 3, Easter Island: Breakfast in the hotel. Half day tour to Rano Kau, a dormant volcano located on the southwestern tip of the island. Inside the volcano there is a lake with abundant vegetation. Visit Ahu Vinapu, with one of the oldest moai on the island. We continue to the village and ceremonial temple of Orongo. In the afternoon, tour to Puna Pau, a quarry on the hills of Rano Kau, where pukaos were manufactured, hats worn by the moais and made of red volcanic ash. Visit Ahu Akivi, an altar consisting of the only 7 moais whose eyes are fixed on the sunset over the ocean. Return to hotel. Overnight.

Day 4, Easter Island - Santiago: Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the airport for flight to Punta Arenas, via Santiago. Reception at Punta Arenas airport and transfer to the hotel. Overnight
