We will head to the workshop of Pablo Seminario. Pablo is one of the most renowned potters in Peru because of the unique style he has developed for more than three decades. He was born in northern Peru but in the 70’s he moved to Cusco, where he met Marilu Behar and his particular style starts to consolidate. The venue (a real home of art) is located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, and it is without doubts the best place to appreciate his technique and art. It is a gallery, a shop, a storage… but above all, it is mainly a workshop and they have designed classes of approximately 2 hours to share with us the basics of ceramics; and actually, we will make our own piece.
In Chinchero
We will visit the workshop of Nilda Callañaupa. Nilda is an award-winning author and Quechua master weaver. In here we will try our hand on a backstrap loom and drop spindle. This is a wonderful way to begin to understand not only the mechanics but also the mentality of creating textiles in the Andes.
